Time Prioritization: A Note From a Top Performing Agent

A lot of agents ask me about how I’m able to do 62 transactions and be a top producer as a solo agent. Between reacting to the daily demands of the business, going to bat for my clients, and nurturing new leads, it can seem nearly impossible to keep all the balls in the air some days. Systems are super important, but time prioritization is key.

I was recently leaving the Global Luxury conference in California and I was in the Denver airport waiting for a connecting flight. I was super hungry and was so tempted to dive into one of the many restaurants I was passing to grab something to eat. But I knew that my main priority was to find my gate. Once I’d done that, I’d be able to evaluate whether or not I had time to get some food. Even though I was really hungry, my priority was getting to my gate to make sure I didn’t miss my flight. It’s the same concept in our business as top-performing real estate agents.

In order to grow and feed your business with new leads, you have to find a way to balance your daily tasks while still carving out time for marketing your business.

Marketing yourself and showcasing your unique skills and passions is vital to becoming a top-performing agent. However, this can be difficult to do when you spend most of your day being very reactive to real estate related events. Throughout the typical workday, for example, my priority is spending time with clients, getting contracts signed, listings agreements, buyer agency agreements, etc. The day’s gone before you know it! In order to grow and feed your business with new leads, you have to find a way to balance your daily tasks while still carving out time for marketing your business. A lot of times I like to schedule a few hours early in the morning to get this done, so it doesn’t get lost in the daily hustle and bustle of being a real estate agent. So I urge you to think about how you can manage your time and prioritize marketing. It’s so important!
