I’m a proud husband and father of three daughters. I was at the University of Colorado in Boulder a few weeks ago for a family weekend. During my family weekend in Boulder I put five properties under contract and generated over $3 million in volume.
A long time ago, when I had a career in technology sales and sales management I was stressed – I wasn’t present with my family and my wife actually told me she wanted a divorce.
I was in Boulder a few weeks ago because I made the conscious decision to be present. It can be hard to have balance in our business. As a real estate agent you get the opportunity to make choices. We get to choose where we use our time, how we use our time and how present we are with our family.
The key to success here is to create repeatable systems.
I have created repeatable systems in my business so that I’m able to be very efficient and I’m able to do a lot of things. I don’t have a huge team, I actually don’t have a team. It’s just me.
I would not have been able to put 5 properties under contract or be present with my daughters and with my family during that time if I didn’t have proven repeatable systems in my business to manage that.
