What do you do when you don’t have enough time in your day or week to get everything done? Time prioritization is a big thing for me. Especially, being efficient, having systems and processes in place to deal with all the things. But there are times in this business where we get overwhelmed with a lot of incoming leads, transactions, challenges and properties under contract all at the same time.
So, time prioritization is very important but it’s all dependent on what your current business looks like. If you are overwhelmed with new leads coming in already, those leads should be your number one priority and then marketing for more leads should come second. If you have no consistent leads coming in at all then marketing for more leads should be your number one priority.
The trick though, is having a balance of both sides – nurturing and converting leads while also generating a consistent flow of leads at the same time. That means you need to have marketing systems in place while you are doing the real estate agent “stuff” and working with clients. This is the key to getting off the roller coaster of inconsistency.
When you are unsure of how you should be prioritizing with your time, the best piece of advice is to take a step back and figure out what the most important things are to get contracts signed and to get contracts to close. Then work backwards from there.
If you’re reading this and thinking, “Okay this sounds great, but what if I suck at marketing” or, “Okay but I still would rather not spend my time on marketing”… then you are like most agents and it’s totally okay to just want to focus on the nurturing and converting of clients and leave the marketing to the professionals.
And honestly, this was something I was hearing from most of my students. As a coach I have been teaching agents how to do this, but the problem was what they really wanted was for it to just be done for them.
After a lot of thinking (and people begging), I finally decided to create a program that solves this problem and we are going to be announcing it very soon… but for now I’ll give you a sneak peak of what I’m thinking it’s going to look like!
Soon we will be announcing a done for you program for your personal marketing, market report, newsletter, blog postings, digital footprint, social media, etc. I used to do this all myself but last year I decided I would rather have someone else do it for me so I could free up my time, and it’s helped me tremendously for time prioritization. I figured getting my team to also do this for other agents would definitely help you with your time prioritization too, so that you can just focus on the converting and nurturing in the real estate agent process – and ultimately have consistent leads flowing in!
Whether you are a brand-new agent and you don’t know what to do or you’re an agent who is very experienced, but super busy, this can be very beneficial for you. You may not have the time or skillset to do some of these things, which is why a done for you program of everything I’ve done over the years to become a top agent could be perfect! I think it’s going to help a ton of agents and I’m excited to solve the online marketing problem that I see so many agents facing.
I’ll close this to say, It’s not all about time management. It’s about time prioritization and figuring out how you can leverage systems. It’s also so much easier and faster when you don’t know how or have time to do something, to find “the who” who can just do it for you.
