I realize you probably think I’m crazy telling you my hat helps me get listings. But I promise you it’s true!
I have a headshot that I use in my local market where I wearing a particular hat. I wear it, I enjoy it. Plus, I have no hair so it keeps the sun off my head and keeps my head warm in the winter. But more importantly, it differentiates me in my market.
Just happens that it’s a fly fishing hat and it’s one of my passions. I’ve been able to attract a lot of affluent buyers and sellers because of my passion for fly fishing. It’s an easy way of connecting with my affluent clients. I’ve also had clients contact me simply because they saw a picture of me wearing the hat and they said, “We like that guy.”
Creating that connection upfront and differentiating yourself so you stand out in your market is important at first. But you have to be able to follow it up with a lot of premium content. That hat is just where it starts but then you need to continue to differentiate yourself in how you serve those affluent dream clients.
Similarly, the Real Estate Agent Dance Guide is a way for us to stand out. When we were doing a trade show, we dressed up, handed out glowing disco balls. It attracted a lot of attention, but we followed it up with actual valuable content. The steps you need, the moves to avoid in the real estate agent business.
Find something to differentiate yourself and find things that you can do to stand out amongst the hundreds or thousands of other agents in your market. It doesn’t have to be a hat for you, but learn to use your passions to differentiate yourself. I use a lot of different tools to attract affluent clients in my market and you can too!
