Are You Getting Your Real Estate Business in Shape in 2020?

Have you ever thought about treating your real estate business like a workout? Rule #1 of a good workout is… DON’T QUIT WHEN THINGS GET HARD!

I’ve been riding my Peloton bike a lot (and doing lots of other workouts) because I like being in shape and it’s something I want to improve in 2020 as well. As I was following one of the online classes the other day, I heard one of the coaches say: “Are you leaning in when it gets hard or are you leaning away?”

… And WOW! That really hit me.

It got me thinking about growing my real estate business and making it stronger, just like I was doing to my body. And the only way I can do that is by continuing when things get hard! Nothing worth doing was ever easy, right? And if every workout you ever did was a walk in the park you’d never actually get stronger.

And our real estate business is the same!

So, now I have to ask you the BIG question… Are you leaning in when things get hard or are you leaning away?

Maybe you’ve looked at doing more online marketing, using social media, publishing content, creating market reports but when you actually thought about doing it…. you leaned away rather than leaned in. I see it with a lot of real estate agents!

They create a Facebook page or blog but then they get busy and it gets hard so there’s no consistency in their digital footprint. But if you decide to do this, if you decide to LEAN IN, then do it all the way. Don’t half ass it (excuse my language…) And it’s okay to ask for help to reach this goal! Hire an assistant, a virtual assistant or take some classes and get a coach if you’re not sure how to do all of this by yourself.

What’s important as you reflect on 2019 and look ahead to the new year is this: think about what you want to do and how you want to do it. Just like with your workouts, you need to be consistent and you can’t quit when things get hard. When things are tough, THAT’s when you’re growing!
